Let’s be honest: most of us have days when we’re just not motivated.
But for 27-year-old Mustafa A. from Western Australia, these days seem few and far between.
With a Certificate III in English as an Additional Language under his belt, he immediately wanted to take his education to the next level.
His next move? Enrol straight into Duke’s ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology. Talk about ambition!
“I’ve been interested in computers since I was a kid in my birth country.”
After his employment consultant pointed him towards Duke’s Cert III in Information Technology, it was all systems go.
Why Mustafa is Loving His Course
At Duke, we believe learning should be made convenient. Our courses are generally done using your smartphone, on your couch or on the bus, and on your time.
This seems to have got Mustafa’s tick of approval, but not without some initial hesitation.
“I was a bit nervous about the chat format at first. I’d never studied anything online before.”
“But now, I love it. It’s so straightforward and convenient. The interface, the chat format – everything.”
The flexibility is another thing that’s powering his circuit board.
“If I need to take a day off because I’m sick, I can just take it off and do my study the next day. I don’t have to run around and get a doctor’s certificate like with other training organisations.”
Mustafa’s Next Moves
Mustafa’s confidence has now increased significantly, particularly because of the customer service skills he learned in the course at Duke.
“I always knew stuff about computers, but the customer service side is all new to me, and I learnt a lot about it.”
With his friendly demeanour and positive attitude, it’s not surprising that Mustafa is thriving in this area and plans to go further with it.
“I either want to find a job in the customer service side of IT, or continue my studies even further.”
His advice to others who are thinking about studying at Duke?
“Just go for it. It’s so convenient. I’ve already recommended Duke to a lot of my friends from TAFE.”
